Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to announce the 2015 IAF and ILAC Annual Meetings, which will take place in Milan from 28th October to 6th November 2015.
It is a great honour for ACCREDIA, the Italian Accreditation Body, to host this important event and to welcome accreditation bodies and stakeholders from all over the world.
The historical context will be a special one, as Milan will be holding EXPO 2015, providing us with a major international window for raising recognition of our Associations and of the development and promotion of the accreditation system on the world stage. The IAF and ILAC meetings will provide an invaluable opportunity to enhance collaboration and to strengthen the credibility of certifications in a global context.
Our role is constantly increasing at a time when the importance of conformity assessment in the promotion of international commerce and in the realisation of Government’s objectives in their economic policies is an ever-expanding process. Indeed, certifications and inspections, tests and calibrations issued under our accreditation are more and more recognised by national regulators as instruments to guarantee health and safety of consumers, as well as environment protection.
As EXPO 2015 brings together countries from all over the world around the theme of Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, so ACCREDIA will bring together all the players working to guarantee quality and the safety of products and services for the benefit of institutions, businesses and consumers. The event also constitutes a glorious chance to see the beauties of Italian art and architecture and to enjoy food and wine specialities.
We hope to see you all, and that the meetings in Milan will contribute to the spreading of the values of accreditation with important decisions concerning the evolution of our sector and the improvement of our accreditation activities.
Indeed, we believe it to be equally important – and we will continue to share with you considerable efforts in this direction – that the rules which govern our sector constitute an opportunity for greater competitiveness for our national and international regulators and our business enterprises as well as a guarantee of protection for consumers worldwide.
We look forward to seeing you in Milan in October 2015!
